A classic pen with some interesting nib options |

Many of the good things about this pen have been described in the first review and I fully agree that this is a great pen. One more point I want to add is that the Zoom nib is a really fun nib if you like medium/broad nibs. This special nib writes a different line width depending on the angle. At the lowest angle it writes like a BB and at the highest angle it writes like a M, you can even write on the reverse side to get a F-nib. What's truly amazing is that it is extremely smooth at any angle. I've one with me at all times.

The Best "Out-of-Box" Nibs Available |

Sailor has a reputation among fountain pen users as offering the best "out of box" nibs available. I own three at the moment, two 14K (fine and medium) and one 21K fine. All three are fantastic writers, and would make an ideal everyday pen.
Aesthetically, Sailors have the kind of understated elegance that many pen users desire. They aren't flamboyant, but at the same time are far from bland. The trim is well executed, the barrels well finished, and the nibs are, simply put, beautiful.
There isn't a dramatic size difference between the medium and full sized. My 14K examples are mediums, with the 21K being a full, and I like them all.
You really can't go wrong with these. I normally have an aversion to cartridge converter pens, but the Sailor converter is so well done that the difference between it and a "true" piston is more or less transparent. There is also the benefit of using cartridges, which are handy in a pinch.
Highly recommended.
