My black of choice |

I'm not the type of guy who uses much black ink. There are occasions for which is it necessary, though. When I need a black, this is the one I tend to reach for. It does creep a bit on the nib, but it is exceptionally well behaved otherwise. It's bulletproof, does not feather, and dries quickly. It's also exceptionally black. If you have black ink needs, this 4.5 ounce bottle will go a long way.

Reminds me of Spinal Tap - it's blacker than black. I have another Noodler's black (Nile Ebony), and HOD is most definitely darker.
It writes very nicely, good lubricity and fast-drying on good paper. I've seen a little feathering from very wet nibs, but again, good paper will help with this.
The fact that this is bulletproof is just icing on the cake. If you need black ink, don't hesitate on this one.
