Fun and functional, the Safari is made of sturdy and colorful ABS plastic. Its unique design features a flexible brass wire clip and comfort molded grip section.

The stainless steel nib is available in extra fine, fine, medium, or broad, and the Safari is available in Red, Yellow, Blue, Charcoal, Blue with Red Clip and two new "summer editions" - black and white.

The Lamy Safari comes with one Lamy T10 ink cartridge. You can purchase additional Lamy ink cartridges or use the Lamy ink converter Z24 so you can refill your pen with bottled ink. Sold separately.

This Safari Inspired Me to Write! July 10, 2008

I picked up one of these because I wanted a good intro fountain pen. And it's been a great choice because it makes writing fun.

The tip is formed to encourage you to hold it correctly. That means the instant I pick it up I am ready to write.

This special edition black is a very handsome color. It has just a bit more flair than the standard colors. It does collect fingerprints and scratches relatively easily, though.

Notebook: the medium nib writes well enough in my Moleskine Large Cahier. If you use a smaller notebook, I'd recommend a fine point

I think that Lamy is great value for money. I own 4 Safaris and each one was flawless right out of the box. For a very reasonable price you get great performance and reliability.

It's the ideal pen to take everywhere without worrying about losing it. If you do lose it, you just get an other one without a second thought because its price is so reasonable.

It's also a great choice for someone who wants to try out fountain pens without spending a lot of money.
